Underwater Australasia's 1st annual Video Competition has just come to an end and prizes were announce in the months underwater eNEWS. The task was to produce videos not longer than 3 minutes with a minimum of 80% of the clip duration underwater.
Only video taken in countries covered on underwater australasia could be entered (currently: Australia, Cambodia, East Timor, Fiji, Indonesia, Malaysia, Micronesia, Myanmar, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Polynesia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Vanuatu and Vietnam) and entries submitted must not have won any other video competition, either locally or internationally and not been submitted to underwater australasia before.
We received some excellent entries which can all be viewed on the video

First prize was a 3 nights / 12 dives on the Great Barrier Reef - See the world famous Cod Hole and pristine Ribbon Reefs with Mike Ball Expeditions
The winner is Stewart Whitfield from Thailand with a fantastic montage on 'Why do we dive?'
Second prize was a 3 nights/2 days dive holiday with AquaMarine Diving Bali in Seminyak, southwest Bali. Enjoy their personalised service and quality diving.
The winner is Paul Wags, a well known name in the underwater video game, with a great collage on the magic of diving Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia
Third prize was a Nocturnal Lights SLX 800i Video Light. A fantastic addition to any videographers or photographers gear bag.
The winner is Jon Shaw with a very nice summary of the beauty of diving the big city of Sydney - some magic topside shots in there as well. Jon made a whole DVD titled 'Underwater NSW' which you can get in the underwater shop
