We are a small company with only one boat, the M.S. John Sandy, a beautifully restored, oak built Swedish fishing ketch which is 72 years old. Specialising in small group liveaboard diving with the emphasis on customising the schedule and diving style to suit each group individually. We also aim to provide a level of personal service unavailable on the larger 15+ guests boats in the area. Running schedule and private charter tours to all the top spots in Thailands Andaman Sea covering the Similan, Surin, Phi Phi, Haa, Bon, and Tachai Islands as well as world famous Richelieu Rock, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang pinnacles. The boat has a spacious saloon with audio/video entertainment/playback facilities and our 3 guest cabins all have individual air con and charging facilities. Great deck and lounging space for socialising, relaxing and superb al fresco dining. By divers, for divers.

Boat Description:

72 year old oak built Swedish fishing ketch recently restored (2003). L=51ft (15.5m), b=17.5ft (5.6m), d=9ft (2.8m). 3 guest cabins with individual a/c and charging facilties. Power 220Vac/50Hz. Generators 20KW and 7KW. Hot shower. 3.4m tender with 15Hp o/board.

Sites Visited:

We have quite a large diversity of sites including granite rock formations, limestone islands with small walls, caves and caverns, deep pinnacles and gently sloping hard coral reefs with some spectacular bommies, and a few wreck dives as well. There is a very large range of reef species on all the sites here from macro crustaceans to large muranes. Thousands of anthias, chromis, angel and butterfly fish, surgeons and sweetlips, seahorses and ghost pipefish, snappers, groupers are only to name a few. Pelagic species include big eye, giant and bluefin Jacks, dogtooth tunas, barracudas, eagle rays and spanish mackerel. Apart from the stone corals, gorgonias, feather stars, sponges and ascidians, many soft coral species grow in abundance here and in many different colours. Whitetip and blacktip reefsharks are commonly seen as well as the docile leopard shark. Seasonal specials are large Manta rays and the ever so special whale sharks which are sighted here every year especially at Richelieu Rock, Tachai Island, Bon Island, Similan Islands and Hin Daeng.
