The Wilderness Society is a community-based environmental advocacy organisation working to protect, promote and restore wilderness and natural processes across Australia.

The Wilderness Society has a strong focus on marine protection, currently working for the creation of protected areas in the state waters of Western Australia, South Australia and NSW.

WildCountry is The Wilderness Society's long-term vision and strategy to revolutionise conservation planning in Australia - a radically different approach to conservation that will give nature its best possible chance of survival in the future.

The Wilderness Society is bringing together some of Australia’s most eminent marine scientists to help develop WildCountry principles for marine conservation – WildSeas for the future.
