The Beuchat Story

Georges Beuchat founded his company in 1934 in Marseilles at the age of 24. Georges was a true pioneer in the diving world having co-founded the French Underwater Federation and inventing countless products and technologies we take for granted today.

Some of these product inventions were: the Jetfin (1964), the Speargun (1947), the first underwater camera housing (1950), the first isothermic diving wetsuit (1953) and many others. Beuchat has not ceased in pushing the boundaries in diving technology – developing products that produce greater comfort and pleasure to use. Products like the Focea wetsuits, Powerjet Fins and Masterlift BCD’s are great examples of current Beuchat products that are leading the way.

In future Beuchat has products planned that continue to harness their history and expertise in diving – expertise built over 75 years.
