B&J Dive Centre was established in 1987 in the bay of Salang on Tioman Island, with our second store opening in the bay of ABC (Ayer Batang) in 1995.

B&J Diving Centre, welcomes you to discover one of peninsular Malaysia's best diving destinations. With us, every diver will find what he or she is looking for, from the most beautiful coral gardens in the South China Sea to a vast variety of tropical reef fish, turtles, sharks and for the lovers of the macro world we have some of the best spots for nudibranchs in the world. If you are just a recreational diver who likes to glide along amazing reefs or if you are more interested in technical diving and would like to dive the famous wrecks from World War II like the HMS Repulse or the HMS Prince of Wales, we can do everything for you.

B&J Diving Centre was the first professional dive centre on Tioman Island and is today a PADI 5* IDC, DSAT, IANTD and DAN facility. We offer the whole package of PADI, DAN and IANTD courses, from PADI Open Water Diver to DAN Oxygen Provider Instructor until IANTD Technical Diver and we train also handicaped people as well as children.

We are a fully qualified PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center and the first IANTD (International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers) facility in Malaysia. All our instructors are PADI, DSAT, DAN and/or IANTD professionals with years of teaching experience. Our dive masters and instructors are trained Oxygen providers and yearly update their Medic First Aid/Emergency First Response rating. B&J Diving Centre is the only facility in Malaysia providing Air fills, Nitrox fills, Oxygen fills and Trimix fills.

Boat Description:

Our small dive boat fleet consists of two wooden dive boats, former Malaysian fishing boats, modified to suit all your diving needs. We can fit up to 15 divers per boat and use the bigger one also for our one day trips to the technical wrecks in the region.

The boats are equipped with fresh water tanks, large platforms, tank racks, VHF, GPS, Live vests, Oxygen and medic first aid kits.

Sites Visited:

Tioman is famous for it's fabulous diving and rich waters. We have around 25 dive sites to choose from but usually visit the 12 best ones. Generally you dive on reefs to a maximum depth of 25 meters along large granite boulders covered in soft and hard corals. They form swim throughs and overhangs, perfect hiding place for rays, sharks, turtles and other species. So far we have identified 267 fish species. Tioman is also famous for it's macro life, especially the hundreds of different nudibranchs. There are over 10 small wrecks in our are, sunk on purpose to become artificial reefs. For technical divers we have some Wrecks in the depth range of 50m to 69m like the HMS Repulse, HMS Prince of Wales, Submarines O16 and KXVII or the minesweeper Banka.

I was part of a number of international press who were invited to attend this new anual dive event on Tioman Island - which for those who don't know is located in the South-East of mainland Malaysia. A 4 day festival which promised lots of activities, diving and other fun in the sun.
