BSAC Melbourne

We are a dive club and training organisation based out of Melbourne. Members range from Marine biologists, Naval Architects, Geologists and thruogh to students and car plant workers.

Range of levels of divers range from Trimix rebreather divers to open water divers.

Melbourne BSAC is a branch of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) located in Australia. We are a relatively small club, but we are all active divers and the club contains a bounty of Instructors, in fact about 75% of the group! We are also fortunate enough to have a National Instructor on hand to advise, assist and generally drink beer with us.

We frequently dive in Port Philip Bay and out of the Heads. Victoria offers a diverse range of diving and has something for everyone. During the summer months most of us switch to a semi-dry suit which should be fine from the beginning of November until Easter. Outside of these months it can be a little chilly in the water and we would recommend a dry suit (although this is not essential). We try to organise 1 official club dive day per month, although you will usually find a few members down there each weekend.

The best way to try and find any of us, or ask for advice, whether from overseas, or in Melbourne, is email the club, hopefully one of us will answer. If you are already in Melbourne, why don't you come and find us on our club night

For those that live and dive in the temperate water of Victoria we are blessed with an abundance of readily accessible sea food - just waiting to be picked up - abalone, crayfish, scallops.
