The Underwater Club

The Underwater Club of UNSW is open to all students, staff and alumni of the University of New South Wales. We also welcome associate members - i.e. friends and relatives of club members.

The Underwater Club organises dives in Sydney most weekends, as well as weekend dive trips along the NSW coast a couple of times a month.

The highlight of our dive calendar is the Reef Trip. We run these around June/July and December/January, taking 25 divers to Northwest Island or Lady Musgrave Island for 2 weeks of non-stop diving in tropical paradise!

There are 4 spots left on the January 2007 trip to Northwest Island - Contact us NOW to join the club and share the experience!!!! - download the pdf below for more info.

In addition to exclusive access to the boats, Underwater Club members have access to very reasonable rental gear (BCD, tanks, regs), and a compressor which we take on more remote expeditions.

My ultimate diving dream is to meet orcas underwater. While I am waiting for this divine meeting with sea giants, I am fascinated with tiny graceful creatures called Hippocampus. Their name derives from Greek for seahorse and literally translates as horse sea monster.
