Underwater Research Group of QLD

The URGQ, as we are more commonly known, has a strong link with shipwrecks. The Curtin Artificial Reef, due west of Moreton Island in Brisbane, was researched and developed by members of the URGQ, with particular assistance from the late Frank Curtin, after whom the reef was named.The club is currently involved (2016-17) in a series of sponsored clean-ups of the C.A.R.

Moreton Island - wrecks, coral reefs, GNS, turtles, nudibranch, pelagics, Curtin Artificial Reef Stradbroke Island - Mantarays, GNS, Turtles Gold Coast Seaway - extensive fish life, nudibranchs, seahorses Mooloolaba - Coral Reefs, ex HMAS Brisbane Bargara - Cochrane Artificial Reef - large cod, sea snakes, turtles, pelagics Cook Island - macro life, nudibranch, anemome fish, spanish dancers,organised overseas trips,GBR island trips.

This is my 8th year as a diver. My patch of underwater heaven is in Beautiful Moreton Bay and surrounding waters, including Curtin Artifical Reef, Flinders reef (Moreton Bay Marine Park), Hutchinson Shoal, Henderson's Reef, Megs Reef (Gotham City) and other amazing sites, too many to name.
