Reef HQ Aquarium

Reef HQ is the world’s largest living coral reef aquarium and national education centre for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. It is the only coral reef aquarium on the Queensland coast for visitors to experience the reef from a fish-eye-view. The 2.6-million litre Coral Reef Exhibit, with its hard and soft corals, provides a home for thousands of beautiful fish, giant clams, sea cucumbers, sea stars and other reef creatures. The living coral is maintained in an environment so similar to the natural conditions to be found on the reef that it even spawns at the same time as its larger, natural counterpart. Talks and Tours are included in the cost of admission and are lead by our fully trained marine experts and employees the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. Reef HQ provides world class educational programs through ' the living classroom 'programs and video conferencing.
