Visibility was poor and surge incredible! Dive buddy managed to hang on at one point and had a very close encounter with an octopus in the foreground! Both eye-balled each other for a short while! Taken with a MX5-11 and YS-20A strobe. Photocomp October '04 - Open
Brown-spotted Wrasse
Taken at a depth of 12 meters off of Scarborough, Perth, WA. Difficult to photograph as they tend to move about amongst the weed quickly and do not like to pose! Camera used was a C-750UZ with inbuilt flash.

Jellyfish with Trailing Tentacles
Taken ascending from Scarborough Ledge (off Scarborough near Perth, WA) on a morning dive. Have no idea what the species is, however, the tentacles trailed for quite a distance! Captured with an Olympus UZ C-750. Depth was a mere 5 metres. Found the subject quite interesting.

Quite a usual sight in the waters of the Marmion Marine Reserve, Western Australia. McCulloch's scalyfin and Western blue devil "hanging out" together.
Harlequin Fish (Othos dentex)
A very inquisitive and fairly placid fish. Seemed to be content to peer at me as keenly as I peered at it! Taken with an Olympus C-750UZ and in built flash. Location was off of Sorrento Quay, WA. Photocomp January '05 - Open

Western Rock Lobster
Taken at a depth of 15.5 metres using an Olympus C-750UZ. Visibility was unusual for the season...15 metres! Also saw a wobbegong that had a dangling hook with a trailing fishing line, protruding from the upper portion of it's mouth...pity. Photocomp August '04 - Open
Common Weedy Sea Dragon
Taken at Quinn's Reef, WA. Visibility was approximately 5 metres ... just came across this lovely specimen! Taken with Olympus C-750 Ultra Zoom Digital.
