This solitary cuttlefish was in a sorry state. It was obvious from the lack of tentacles and scarring on its head, back and sides, that it had escaped the clutches of a predator. Despite this, it was not threatened being photographed and allowed my buddy and me to spend quite some time with it. This image was captured with an Olympus C-750UZ with inbuilt flash. Harlequin Fish (Othos dentex)

A very inquisitive and fairly placid fish. Seemed to be content to peer at me as keenly as I peered at it! Taken with an Olympus C-750UZ and in built flash. Location was off of Sorrento Quay, WA. Photocomp January '05 - Open

Comical Blenny

Taken on the wreck of the Lena, 2.8 nautical miles off the coast of Bunbury, WA. Quite an easy dive with the hull of the wreck lying in a mere 18 metres of water. These lovely little creatures are abundant in the railings and a pleasure to view! Taken with an Olympus C-750UZ using the built in flash. Photocomp March '05 - Open

Beneath the Busselton Jetty.

This image was taken with an Olympus C-750UZ. I did not use the inbuilt flash, hence the eerie setting surrounding the diver. The Busselton Jetty in WA can be a lovely dive. Photocomp March '05 - Open

Short-tailed Nudibranch

Apparently this species (Ceratosoma brevicaudatum) is endemic to the south western coast of WA. This is only the second time I've ever seen one!! The nudibranch was captured with an Olympus C-750UZ with built-in flash. Location was Quinn's Reef just north of Mindarie, WA. Depth was a little over 5 metres. Photocomp January '05 - Open
