Personal Description

I discovered the fascinating world of diving a couple of years ago - always loved the water and anything water related, but only since moving to Australia from South Africa four years ago with my family (husband & daughter) was I able to pursue my passion for the sea.Let's just say I have spent the last couple of years "expoloring my inner mermaid'!I joined Springvale Dive centre in Victoria in 2002, with a good friend and we have gradually been gaining our qualifications for scuba, from Open Water to Advanced & now we're planning to get our Rescue Divers Certification.
I try & dive as much as possible, although I guess my family feel I sometimes take it a bit far - as they don't see me much on the weekends anymore.(I'm trying to get my husband involved in diving and the club but he has a few other things he wants to achieve first)
I am the only girl in my dive club - and get treated as 'one of the boys' by the rest of the club members - which is'nt too bad - but it does get a bit 'blokey' at times!!
Diving is my passion and anyone that knows me,knows that when it comes to improving my diving skills & learning about the amazing marine world - I'm as keen as they come.
I have met so many fantastic people during my time as a diver,it's great to have joined the diving 'family' & discovered others who share the same passion as I do.

I have a confession to make: I am an addict, addicted to diving. Some people may call it an obsession, but for me it's just a love of the ocean and all the things within it.

Of all the books I have ever read on Australian dive sites all of them list South West Rocks, more specifically Fish Rock Cave in New South Wales as a premier diving spot with the longest underwater sea cave in the Southern Hemisphere and of course the resident Grey Nurse Sharks.
