How much do dive medical certificates cost?

Anyone got any prices? I've been ringing around locally (bayside Melbourne) and found the following rates:

$154 - Jasper Medical Clinic Centre Road Bentleigh $176 - Prahran Sports Medicine Clinic $119 - Bluff Road Medical Centre - Sandringham $132 - Bay Road Medical Centre - Sandringham $165 - Hampton Medical - 3 Service Street - Hampton

I saw a price range quoted by the Monash diving club which stated $70-$140...don't know how old those figures are.

I paid $150 at some place in the CBD... kind of steep if for a simple medical if you ask me. The one plus was that my medical insurance covered 75% of the cost, so you may want to look into the coverage that yours provides.

Will look into that - I'm with HCF with full cover. One other interesting thing I found was that there are two doctors in the Hampton practice; one requires that you get a chest x-ray prior to the medical - the other doesn't require the chest x-ray.

So...will that mean he wants a chest x-ray done later? Or is it entirely optional?

About a month ago I made a few calls in order to get the best quote. They ranged from $120 - $350 (inc. X-ray, even though that isn't necessary).

In the end I paid $120 at: Dr John H Silver 105 Riversdale Road, HAWTHORN 3122 03 9818 3233

Having spent the last year going from OW to MSD with Camel thought 70-632 I might as well go the whole hog and do my divemaster in may, keeps the brain active and PADI in certificate fees 70-633

simple question for you all, for the Divemaster you apparantly need a medical signed by your doctor 70-634, have printed out the PADI form and my doctor wants a £125 to check me over and sign it has anybody come across this before and is their another 70-635 option ? cheaper obviously
