DOUTS - University of Technology Sydney

DOUTS is the scuba diving club of the University of Technology, Sydney. Membership is open to UTS students, staff, graduates, and a limited number of invited guests.

DOUTS is Sydney's premier Scuba Diving Club. We are an active club running monthly away trips to destinations up and down the NSW coast, local Sydney dives every weekend and regular interstate and overseas expeditions.

We pursue a wide variety of diving styles and interests; shore, night, photographic, shark, wreck, technical and mixed gas diving are all practiced by our members. We meet regularly for talks, presentations, slide shows and videos as well as social get togethers. Diving is the best way to explore the magnificent wilderness of the ocean depths. Swimming with Humpback whales, playing with the inquisitive giant cuttlefish, frolicking with playful seal pups, studying grey nurse sharks lazily cruising by, diving superb coral walls in unlimited visibility. The richness and diversity of the ocean is boundless - and within our reach!!

Boat Description:

Local boat diving in Sydney and along the NSW coast on our boat DOUTLESS III. She is a 22 foot, 7mm plate alloy mono-hull with twin 115hp Yamaha outboards. This is a customised dive boat, designed to carry 8-10 divers and built to 2C survey. Boat dives are at an incredibly cheap rate, and cheaper for students!!

In this article I will introduce you to the next two in hierarchical sequence. Seaslugs are indeed fascinating creatures and are a favorite for many photographers. They do not move about very quickly at all, which is a characteristic that makes them easy subjects to shoot. Often it is not the case of 'the one that got away', but the case of 'Oh no! I have run out of film again!'.
