These little fellows are always fun to watch and you only ever seem to have one chance at a shot before they dive into the rubble. Photocomp May '06 - Open
Have not been night diving for a while. Went for a night dive the other night to see what was out and feeding. Well worth the time. This shot was taken on a little visited site at Escape Reef, Great Barrier Reef. Taken with a Canon 300D in an Ikelite housing and a single Ikelite 125 strobe.
This fellow is a resident of Steve's Bommie on the Ribbon Reefs. The shot was taken whilst on a Ribbons trip aboard the Nimrod Explorer. The shot was taken with a Canon300D using a recently procured 100mm macro lens (you don't realise how much camera shake you can get until start playing around with these suckers). The girl has been at at divesite called Nonki out at Holmes Reef now for a few years. She has the habit of coming up to you and trying to nip your neck and slamming into the purge button on your reg. This shot was taken late last year using a Canon300D in an Ikelite housing and a single 125 strobe. Photocomp March '05 - Open
Shot with a Canon 300D in an Ikelite housing and using a single 125 strobe at False Entrance divesite, Osprey Reef, Coral Sea aboard the Nimrod Explorer. The shot was heavily cropped, and it was sheer luck the the focus pinged this shrimp. Apart from a crop, levels were adjusted, as well as a bit of saturation. A little tidying up completed the picture. Photocomp February '05 - Open
This shot was taken at Pixie's Gardens In North Queensland last November, using a Canon 300D in an Ikelite housing using a single 125 strobe. Was shot in raw, with tinkering done in Photoshop. Apart from the usual levels, saturation, etc., this shot was cropped and a bit of tidying up was done. Photocomp February '05 - Open
Taken with Canon 300D in Ikelite housing using standard 18-55 lens and single Ikelite 125 strobe. Whilst only a small specimen (looks as if the little fella has just gained it's adult colours) it is still absolutely glorious. He tried to hide in a cave, but I found him. Three shots taken. This one I prefer due to the back lighting and the angle of the fish (the others are a more normal position). Photocomp Feburary '05 - Open
