Hip Hip Hooray - 20 years for Underwater Australasia
In 2002, we - the founders of Underwater - felt that the Australian diving community and industry had nowhere to go to connect with like-minded people and find out about where to go diving, where to see what and get advice on underwater photography and marine life. This is how underwater.com.au came to be: an online presence for Austraila's dive industry and community.
A few years later, several additional projects such as the Underwater Festival, Underwater Project and the roving Underwater Tour became part of a now much larger Underwater Australasia.
The public was offered the opportunity to actively participate in underwater photo comps and shoot-outs. They enabled everybody to meet and greet world famous photographers, marine biology experts and experienced divers such as Jennifer Hayes, David Doubilet, William Tan, Aaron Wong, Janet Lanyon, Richard Smith and our very own Darren Jew and Jasmine Carey to name a few.
"The Underwater Tour brought exposure for underwater photographers, artists, environmental activist and their passions!"

The Underwater Australasia on-line shop is now one of the largest underwater enthusiast shops. At the moment we carry almost 1000 products from more than 50 suppliers! Something we are extremely proud of.
In the last few years, Underwater Australasia became the exclusive distributor in Australia for Sealife, Paralenz, Nautilus Lifeline, Fantasea, QYSEA, T-shousing, Sublue, Yamaha Seascooters and SUPE
Even more recently, the team at Underwater Australasia connected with Eleanor from ELK Draws to produce Water Bottles for Mental Health. This project showcases the amazing drawings of Elk Draws on a stunningly produced series of water bottles that were created to help save the environment, contribute to mental health and to be individual pieces of useful art. Fifty percent of the profits from sales of these water bottles are donated to Lifeline.
