Protect Our Coral Sea

The Protect our Coral Sea initiative comprises: the Australian Conservation Foundation, Australian Marine Conservation Society, Pew Environment Group – Australia, Project AWARE Foundation, Humane Society International, Queensland Conservation Council, National Parks Association of Queensland, North Queensland Conservation Council, Wildlife Queensland and the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre.

The Coral Sea lies east of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park (approximately 120km from shore at its closest point). It’s one of the last places on Earth where large marine animals can still be found in great numbers.

Right now the federal government is considering the future of the Coral Sea within Australian waters.
