where to go on GBR

Does anyone have any recommendations about the best part of GBR to dive? And which dive operator?

Smaller operators appeal the most! And also dive sites where you see more fish than bubbles.

My husband and I are considering Undersea Explorer next March/ April, but we also really want to visit Fraser Island and given time constraints, not sure we will be able to manage both.

Thanks for any comments

Hi Jorunna,

I would really recommend to go with the Undersea Explorer. It is definitely a once in a life time experience. The crew is really friendly, they know a lot about the marine life and are passionate about passing on knowledge and you can be involved in some of the marine research they do. Not to mention the great food.

They other advantage is that you go out to the Coral Sea which has some of the best diving the Great Barrier Reef has to offer.

Cheers,
Wandy

Hi

What is their website? I want to go out in May and will probably be on my own. Do you think this company would accommodate that well? And is May a good time to go out to GBR?

If not any suggestions?

It will be my first time to GBR, so I am v excited about it all

Check out http://www.underwater.com.au/undersea for a direct link to their website.

If you are an underwater.com.au card holder you get free gear hire worth $190 plus you go in a draw (June 04) to actually win a trip on this boat!

Hope that helps and have fun on the Undersea Explorer.

Tim

Goodbye Cocos. Hello Christmas Island!Goodbye Cocos. Hello Christmas Island!
We waved goodbye to the crew from Cocos (Keeling) Islands until our arms hurt. We were a bit sad to leave everybody behind, but also excited about what was going to come. After only an hour the plane started to descend again and we could see Christmas Island. It was very clear straight away that Christmas Island is geologically very different from the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
