storm damage to GBR
Given Typhoon Larry and Typhoon Monica, what areas of the GBR have been affected the most and have been diminshed for diving purposes?
We are planning to visit/dive Queensland in the beginning of June and are trying to determine where we should base (oringally we were planning for the Cairns/Port Douglas area).
Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.

I was dived in queensland in september off townsville, i saw no problems with damage to the reef in that area, others on the same trip had dived of cairns and also did not see any damage.
The reefs cover a huge area and there are hundreds of them.
I doubt the dive boat operators will take anyone to badly damaged reefs if there are any.
