Selayar Island Resort

Selayar Island Resort is located on the West side of Selayar and operates one Dive-center on the west side (May-Nov) and one on the East side (Nov-Apr)

Travel season: Indonesia has two monsoon season, June to September East monsoon, Mid December until March West monsoon.

Diving on west side: May until November - Diving on North, South, West and East side: March, April, May, October, November and December - Diving on East side: November until April

The resort is located on the mid west part of Selayar, offering nice dive sites on the nearby island Pasi, sloop to around 20 m. Season around the whole year, diving depending monsoon season, January until March is rainy season, mostly it rains in night time.

Our East dive-center just a 13 km / 20 min car ride from resort across the mountain range. In west monsoon season we mostly depart in the morning from west and arrive from east, after 2 or 3 dives, in the afternoon. PADI and SDI Beginner to Dive master course, as well specialty courses are available all the time as well some TDI technical courses, Nitrox diving is provided.

Sites Visited:

West of Selayar: Sitio Mardin, Sitio Anto, Pasi satu etc. Bump head-parrot fishes, turtles, crocodile fishes, mostly hard corals, sea slugs, huge rays can be seen, sometime in July and August Manta rays passing by and lots of critters. Few times we have spotted black, small frog fishes, occasionally Dugongs can be seen just in front of our beach and unfortunately we have no house reef, sandy beach with sea grass.

North of Selayar: Bira Point, Kambing Island etc., drop off, strong currents can occur, white tip and black tip sharks are spotted very often, eagle rays, sea snakes and all kind of small coral fishes.(for experienced divers only)

South of Selayar: Tanning Anchorage, Black Forest, Sunset Point, etc., great reefs, starting at 15 mtr, drop down to 80 m., many sea fans, black corals, pelagic fishes, rays and garden eels.
